Barzani's KDP welcomes Israel support from possible Kurdish state 

Erbil: Kurdistan Region’s ruling Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) welcomed Israel support from the independence of the self-autonomous Kurdistan Region from Iraq. Former Kurdistan Parliament speaker and KDP political office member Kamal Kirkuki said ”We are happy and hopeful to see Israel’s support from Kurdistan’s independence.” He further told Shar Press that some Arabic states have announced their support to the region’s independence and have sent their support messages to Kurdish officials of Kurdistan Region. Kirkuki went on to say that some regional, Asian, American and European states have also sent their supporting messages to the region, adding that due to the sensitivity of the issue the region will not reveal the name of the states. kurdpress.ir | Ekurd.net

Iran: Iraqis never to accept disintegration of their homeland, in response to Kurdistan President Barzani’s call

 

Tehran: Iranian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Marziyeh Afkham said on Saturday that Iraqis will never accept disintegration of their homeland. She reiterated in a statement “Iran’s support for Iraq’s solidarity and territorial integrity.” The spokeswoman made the remarks, commenting on some reports on Iraq’s disintegration “The Iraqi Constitution has the capacity to meet demands of all Iraqi people and there is no doubt that each and every Iraqi national supports maintaining territorial integrity of the country.” She added “The vigilant people of Iraq will by no means allow materialization of the plots and dreams of the Zionist regime and enemies of their country in the region.” iraqinews.com

ISIS Islamic-jihadists execute 10 in Iraqi Kurdish village

Al-Qaeda linked Islamic-jihadists from the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria ISIS, have executed at least 10 people in a village in Iraq’s semi-autonomous Kurdistan region. According to independent Kurdish sources, the executions took place in the village of Zur Maghar, in western Kurdistan region, following the ISIS’ capture of three Kurdish villages in the area on Friday. The sources further noted that the victims - local tribal chiefs and the elderly - were either killed by hanging or shooting. The Takfiri militants left three of the bodies hanging from posts at a crossroad for hours, with the aim of intimidating local residents. On Saturday, ISIS gunmen demolished several holy shrines and mosques belonging to Shi'a and Sunni Muslims in the militancy-riddled regions of Iraq’s northern province of Nineveh. Latest reports say the militants have razed at least four shrines belonging to revered Sunni or Sufi figures. The extremists also leveled six Shi'a mosques to the ground. Local residents and witnesses say the militants have occupied two Orthodox cathedrals and replaced crosses with their black flags. ISIS sets condition not to attack Peshmerga forces

Al-Qaeda linked of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria ISIS has stated its militants will not launch any attacks on the Kurdish Peshmerge military forces if the Kurdish forces do not fight the militants in their attacks on Shiites, Turkmens and the destruction of religious sites and mosques. A member of the Kurdish forces told bas news that the ISIS has set three conditions for the Kurdish forces. According to the Peshmerga official the condition had stated Sulaiman Beg-Doz Khurmatu border pass way should go under the control of the ISIS. The pass way is controlled by Peshmerga forces. The second condition was that Peshmerga forces should not intervene in the ISIS attack on Shiites and Turkmens and their massacre and the third was that Peshmerga forces should stay away in the case of the ISIS destruction of Shiite religious sites and places. According to the Peshmerga official the militants have attacked the Kurdish forces who rejected the conditions. kurdpress.ir
