Hashd Al-Shaabi Shells Kurdish Neighborhoods in Tuz Khurmatu.

ERBIL — The Shi’ite militias of Hashd al-Shaabi last night shelled the Kurdish neighborhoods in Tuz Khurmatu, injuring two Kurdish civilians.
The militia forces of Hashd al-Shaabi shelled the Kurdish areas in Tuz Khurmatu with mortars, resulting in the wounding of a man and a child.
The brother of the injured man told BasNews that his older brother went back to Tuz Khurmatu to transfer his child’s study from Tuz Khurmatu to Erbil and stayed in the city for the night to finish the procedures. He got injured during last night’s mortar attack on the Kurdish districts, he said.
A child had also been injured in the attack, he said, adding that it was too hard to transfer the injured civilians to Kirkuk for treatment.
After unknown armed men shelled the Turkmen areas in Tuz Khurmatu on Saturday evening, the Turkmen Shi’ite militias began to shell the Kurdish areas. However, the local security forces could not confirm whether the mortar attack on Turkmen areas were carried out by volunteers or Islamic State (IS) militants.
On 16th October, Baghdad deployed its army and paramilitary groups affiliated with Iran to Kirkuk, Tuz Khurmatu and other disputed Kurdish territories. They attacked the Peshmerga positions and took over the territories.
Since then, a raft of reports revealing Hashd al-Shaabi’s abuses against the Kurdish residents have been published. However, thousands of Kurds have already escaped their homes but their properties are being destroyed by the militias.
