Place of hearing of HDP’s Demirtaş changed
399 days after his arrest, the first hearing of Selahattin Demirtas, the Co-Chair of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP), is scheduled to begin in Ankara on 7 December 2017.
The first hearing of HDP Co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş was expected to be held at Sıhhıye Courthouse but the court has transferred it to the hall in Sincan Prison compound two days before the hearing on the grounds of “security”.
A previous hearing of HDP Co-chair Figen Yüksekdağ had similarly been transferred from Sıhhıye Courthouse to Sincan Prison Compound Hall and Yüksekdağ had been prevented from attending the hearing after this decision.
It grabs attention that the place of hearing has been changed after calls for solidarity made for the past two weeks for Demirtaş during the hearing on December 7.
